Dear Pam,
I wanted to write you and inform you of my new address and also
to give you some information about obtaining child support that
maybe you can use.
I was a bit disappointed that I was unable to obtain help from
our state in getting my ex-husband to pay child support.
My ex owes me $17,000. Repeated contact with Cook County
Child Support Division proved futile. My ex is out of
state, and I was told that nothing could be done.
I assure you that nothing was exactly what I got. I,
however, stumbled upon a Web site called National Child
Support. I called them and guess what?! This week,
I received a check for the first time in 10 years.
If you know of others who are frustrated with this system and lack
of action from those who are sworn to prosecute these things, I
would urge them to check out NCS. There is a small fee
for their services. Their toll free number is
